Dar es Salaam to Mikumi
Mikumi National Park
Take the SGR train from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro, where our team meets you for the two-hour drive to Mikumi National Park. Before dinner, visit a Maasai boma to learn how the community lives alongside the wildlife next door. Overnight at Camp Bastian.

A Full Day in Mikumi National Park
Mikumi National Park
Spend the day on game drives across Mikumi's open plains, watching for giraffe, elephant, buffalo, zebra, lion, wildebeest, and hippo. Lunch is taken inside the park. Return to camp for dinner and a second night at Camp Bastian.

Hiking to Sanje Waterfall
Udzungwa Mountains
After breakfast, drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park with a packed lunch ready for the trail. Hike through rainforest known for rare and endemic species, including the Iringa red colobus monkey and the Udzungwa forest partridge, on the way to Sanje Waterfall. At 170 metres, it's one of the tallest waterfalls in East Africa, and you may have the chance to swim in the pool below before the drive back to Mikumi for dinner and overnight at camp.
The hike to the waterfall and back takes roughly 3-4 hours round trip; a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.

Return to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, travel by private car to Morogoro and board the SGR train for the final stretch back to Dar es Salaam.
