Arrival on the Rufiji
Nyerere (Selous) National Park
Arrive from Dar es Salaam at the Rufiji River, gateway to the Selous ecosystem inside Nyerere National Park. After lunch at your lodge, head out on a boat safari along the Rufiji, sliding past crocodile and hippo while the riverbanks fill with birdlife. The day ends with a clean sunset over the water, dinner, and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Game Drives and a Walking Safari
Nyerere (Selous) National Park
Spend the day exploring Nyerere on game drives, then swap the vehicle for your own feet on a guided walking safari, a closer, quieter way to read tracks and understand the bush. Dinner and a second night at the lodge follow.

Onward to Mikumi
Mikumi National Park
Drive from Nyerere to Mikumi National Park, crossing the Uluguru Mountains along the way. After checking in and a quick lunch, visit a Maasai boma for an afternoon of cultural exchange before dinner and your first night at Camp Bastian.

A Full Day in Mikumi
Mikumi National Park
Spend the day on safari inside Mikumi, where open plains give you some of the best odds in the south for spotting lion and other predators. Lunch is taken inside the park, and you'll return to camp for a final dinner and overnight stay.

Return to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, travel by private car from Mikumi to Morogoro, then board the SGR train for the final 90-minute leg back to Dar es Salaam.
